RIVIT was founded by Jay Davis, a passionate advocate for increasing Indigenous representation in IT. As a sole trader, Jay connects Indigenous youth with opportunities in the tech industry, including scholarships, mentorship, and career programs. Jay’s mission is to inspire and guide young Indigenous Australians to pursue IT careers that reflect both their cultural heritage and future aspirations.
My mission is to encourage young Indigenous Australians (primarily ages 12-18, but not limited to) to explore IT careers, particularly in areas like healthcare, education, and care of Country. I aim to help them contribute to raising Indigenous perspectives in sectors that are relevant to their communities, empowering them to shape solutions that blend Indigenous Knowledge with Modern Technology.
I take a hands-on approach by traveling to schools and communities to introduce young people to IT opportunities. I provide guidance on career pathways, connect students with mentors, and help them access scholarships and training programs. My goal is to support each student in finding the best path to success in IT.
Although I am a sole trader, I collaborate with a network of mentors, Indigenous leaders, and partner organizations to create opportunities and provide the support young Indigenous Australians need to thrive in the tech industry.
